Behind the Scenes with Kathryn Kayajan, founder of Ferran Textiles
When Kathryn Kayajan, founder of Ferran Textiles, first reached out, this wasn’t about simply updating her photos.
It was about creating personal branding images that reflect who she is now - as a founder, a creative, and a business owner stepping into a new level of visibility.
That’s a different kind of session.
Kathryn’s work lives in texture, color, and craftsmanship. Her textiles are bold, layered, and deeply intentional. So instead of bringing her into a neutral space and working around that, we built the session around her world.
She brought a selection of her fabrics into the studio - rich patterns, striking colors, pieces that carry the identity of her brand. Rather than treating them as props, we integrated them into the visual language of the shoot.
Everything had a purpose.
The goal was simple: create images that feel elevated, editorial, and fully aligned with her brand.
At the beginning, like so many clients, she said:
“I don’t know how to pose.” And the truth is - that part never matters.
Because this process isn’t about posing. It’s about direction, movement, and presence. Once that shift happens, everything changes. The images begin to feel natural, confident, and authentic.
That’s when they start working.
As a Boston personal branding photographer, my focus is always the same: creating images that don’t just look beautiful - but actually move your brand forward.
Images that position you for opportunities.
