Branding Photography for Pilates Instructors: What We Created During Anya’s Session

June 23, 2026 personal branding

If you’re a Pilates instructor or wellness professional, your online presence often becomes someone’s first impression of your business. Before clients ever book a class, they’re deciding whether they trust you, connect with your energy, and see themselves working with you.

That’s exactly what we kept in mind during Anya’s branding session.

Here are a few things we intentionally created to help her build a cohesive brand.

1. We Mixed Portraits with Movement

Professional portraits help build trust, but movement photos tell the story. Throughout the session, we captured both polished portraits and action shots to showcase Anya’s personality and teaching style. The combination creates a brand that feels professional, authentic, and approachable.

2. We Used Props That Tell a Story

Branding photos should feel like your life, not just a photoshoot. We incorporated elements that reflected Anya’s lifestyle and brand, including dumbbells, a Pilates ball, coffee cups, magazines, headphones, and her favorite sneakers. These small details help create images that feel natural and relatable.

3. Multiple Outfits Create More Variety

One of the easiest ways to maximize a branding session is by planning different looks. During this session, we used three outfits to create a mix of athletic, lifestyle, and editorial images. This variety allows Anya to use her photos across Instagram, her website, marketing materials, and future content.

4. We Created Content for More Than Instagram

Branding photography isn’t about getting one nice headshot. The goal is to create an entire image library that can be used for websites, social media, newsletters, class promotions, and marketing materials. A single session should provide months of content.

5. Your Personality Is Your Brand

Anya also has a dance background, which brought beautiful movement and confidence into the session. Every person has something unique that makes their brand memorable, and my goal is always to bring that to life rather than forcing generic poses.

Whether you’re a Pilates instructor, yoga teacher, wellness coach, or studio owner, your photos should reflect the experience you provide.
