A birthday photoshoot with a twist

When Clara reached out about a photoshoot to celebrate her 30th birthday, I was expecting the usual - maybe a dress, cake, balloons. But she had something entirely different in mind.

As a former competitive figure skater, Clara felt most confident in athletic wear and wanted her session to reflect that strength and authenticity. Inspired by my Calvin Klein-style , she envisioned a minimal, sporty, empowering look that felt true to her. We scheduled her two looks personal branding birthday shoot. Clara came prepared with sleek leggings, a sports bra, and her figure skates - yes, figure skates! I’ve never photographed anything like this in-studio before, and it was fun to try it!

To add an editorial edge, we played with layers like a jean jacket, added movement and posing to reflect her athletic side, and even ended the session with a wet-hair look for a bold, model-off-duty vibe.
