Making Cover art with Kayla Silverman

Editorial

Five years ago, I messaged glam-pop artist Kayla Silverman to shoot in my home studio in Cambridge. After our first session, capturing the cover art for her single “Can’t You Tell,” we could tell that sparks were flying.

Over the next few years, we had the best time creating entire worlds together. From recreating banquets to ripping out fake hearts, we've done 10 photoshoots and 14 cover arts (and counting).

For this session, we dove straight into the drama with an editorial shoot for her new single “Tell Me How.” The track is a lustful disco tune about pining over a complete stranger. We styled Kayla blindfolded with an arrow-pierced apple to symbolize both the thrill of the chase and the vulnerability that comes with it.

I’m absolutely in love with these photos and so happy with how the cover art turned out.

Listen to "Tell Me How" on all streaming platforms!
